Nearly 100 people attended an open house at New Song Community Center on Thursday, March 23 to learn more about the North/Northeast Community Development Initiative Action Plan. The event featured a resource fair and information sessions where attendees could learn more about the key strategic areas of the Action Plan – investing the remaining $32 million in TIF resources in the Interstate Corridor urban renewal area in commercial real estate development, business ownership, nonprofit support, homeownership – and the next steps for implementation. The Action Plan has a particular focus on advancing opportunities for prosperity that benefit African Americans and people of color.
