Prosper Portland has hired Sean Murray as its human resources director. His first day on the job was Monday, June 12.
Murray has extensive public sector experience and most recently served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Portland Public Schools, directing a team of 45 human resources professionals that supported more than 7,000 employees. Prior to that role, he was HR manager for the Portland Police Bureau and worked as a labor relations coordinator and HR coordinator for the Bureau of Human Resources at the City of Portland.
Prosper Portland Executive Director Kimberly Branam said, “Sean brings a depth and breadth of public HR experience to Prosper Portland. We look forward to his expertise in HR best practices, his strategic thinking, and leadership as we continue our focus on being an equitable, innovative, financially stable agency. “

Murray serves on the board of the Urban League of Portland and Building Blocks for Success. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Chico.
