Six Portland designers/makers, sponsored by Prosper Portland, attended the NY Now Trade Show August 12-15, a New York-based event that is a leading market for contemporary design across home, lifestyle, handmade and gift products. The companies included:
It was the first trade show for several of the brands, and several noted their appreciation for attending with other small business owners; as one participant said, “Being able to do this show with other makers who were new to the trade show scene was really a great support.”
The companies averaged 10-15 leads each; collectively they wrote 60 new orders and gained $36,000 in immediate sales, with an additional $70,000 in sales projected in the coming year.
