January Events at the Portland Winter Ice Rink
Following the success of the Portland Winter Ice Rink and Woodsy Winter Village in December, the Ice Rink continues through January with a creative lineup of events to keep the fun going all month long.
Wednesday Movie Nights start this Wednesday, January 10
Movie showings will be in the cozy Woodsy Winter Village at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm and do not require a skate ticket – although you’ll probably want to get on the ice after seeing these films. Movies are free to the public and popcorn is included!
- Wednesday, January 10 – Frozen
- Wednesday, January 17 – The Cutting Edge
- Wednesday, January 24 – The Mighty Ducks
Ticketed skaters can skate along to the movie’s soundtrack at the 6 pm and 8 pm skate sessions. Costumes are encouraged, although hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed on the ice.
Thursday Night Dance Parties with PopCartPDX
Every Thursday this month (January 11, January 18, and January 25), the Winter Ice Rink will feature music from PopCartPDX at the 8 pm skate session. PopCartPDX is a “bike-pulled and battery-powered DJ booth from outer space.”
Friday Night Themed Skate
We have three special themed evenings planned for the Fridays, starting with “Ladies of Pop” all day on January 12 and January 19, and ending with Bailemos Sobre Hielo on January 26 at the 6 pm and 8 pm skate sessions.

Special Hours & Pricing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Monday, January 15
The Ice Rink will be open from 10 am to 10 pm on Monday, January 15 with a special ticket price of $10 all day. (This special cannot be combined with other offers.)
Save time by reserving your tickets online. Prices are $20 for adults and $12 for youth under 12. Tickets include skate rentals; the Bobby The Seal Skating Aid can be rented for an additional $10. Ticket discounts will be available with purchases from local retailers.
Located downtown at the west end of the Morrison Bridgehead at 499 SW Naito Pkwy, the Portland Winter Ice Rink is open through Sunday, January 28 with skate sessions from 10 am – 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 3 – 10 pm Wednesday through Friday. The rink is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
