The Fairfield

This four-story brick building on SW Harvey Milk St. and 11th Ave. was originally constructed in 1911 and consisted of single-resident occupancy (SRO) units for individuals. Home Forward preserved and renovated the Fairfield, including seismic upgrades and structural improvements.

Completed in August 2024, the newly renovated Fairfield consists of 75 SRO units and studios. In addition to safety and livability upgrades, Home Forward reconfigured the ground floor to include community space, resident service offices, property management and maintenance rooms, and up to 3,100 square feet of commercial space.

Prosper Portland is partnering with Home Forward to finance, own, and operate the commercial portion. The three commercial suites are in warm shell condition, have lots of natural light, and have great visibility on the corner of 11th Avenue and Harvey Milk Street, one block from Powell’s Books.
