The website is a centralized resource for small business owners.
The Portland Office of Small Business (OSB) at Prosper Portland invites small business owners and members of the public to visit its newly launched website at pdxofficeofsmallbusiness.com.
The website contains resources to help you start a business, manage your business, or gather information about the permitting process and funding. Most importantly, you can connect directly with the Office of Small Business team via the Contact Us or Chat features.
The site also creates a pathway to help business owners connect to groups and resources within their community, with an events calendar and business spotlights where the Office of Small Business will continually shine the light on Portland small businesses.
“When small businesses do well, everyone in Portland benefits,” said Mayor Keith Wilson. “I’m excited for the rollout of our centralized Office of Small Business website resource for business owners, and I’m grateful for the Small Business team at Prosper Portland for leading this work.”
Created as a central point of entry for Portland’s small businesses, the Office of Small Business launched in early 2025 with funding allocated by Portland City Council. Led by manager Mitch Daugherty (former director of Built Oregon), the team includes liaisons Jon Bebe (Districts 1 & 3), Julieanna Elegant (Districts 2 & 4), and Dan Ruan (Website & Online Resources). Since launching this spring, the team has already met with more than 100 businesses throughout the city.
“We know that over time the site will grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of business owners. Portland is a city of small businesses, and we are excited to support you,” said Interim Executive Director Shea Flaherty Betin. “Whether you’re a brand new start-up or an established enterprise, the Office of Small Business is here to help you, every step of the way.”
