PDC Executive Director Patrick Quinton joined City Commissioner Nick Fish and the Zenger Farm team for the Urban Grange ribbon-cutting on Friday, June 26. The Grange project received $300,000 in PDC assistance via the Community Livability Grant program. PDC has a long history with Zenger Farm, providing close to $800,000 in financial support over the years for farmhouse renovations, the community supported agriculture program, the community garden, and now the commercial kitchen and office spaces of the Grange. The project aligns well with PDC’s Strategic Plan and work to strengthen neighborhoods, encourage entrepreneurship, particularly among underrepresented populations, and reach out to our most vulnerable citizens to help with food security and healthy eating.
The public is invited to attend the Urban Grange Open House on Saturday, July 11, 2-4pm. At this family friendly event, attendees can meet the Zenger Farm team, including new executive director, Mike Wenrick; tour the new Urban Grange and the farm fields; and watch a cooking demonstration led by members of the Grange Community Chef program.
