The South Waterfront community celebrated a milestone on Saturday, June 27 with the Grand Opening of the South Waterfront Central District Greenway at SW Curry and Gaines in the North Macadam Urban Renewal Area.
Executive Director Patrick Quinton joined a full roster of other dignitaries to speak about PDC’s long history with the area, a former brownfield. PDC provided $4 million for the Greenway, a $15.4 million project driven from the beginning by public-private partnership and a commitment to restore the South Portland community’s connection with the river.
