Avangrid Renewables
Formerly known as Iberdrola Renewables, Avangrid is headquartered in Northwest Portland and is one of the leading providers of clean, renewable wind power in the United States. It is part of the Iberdrola Group, an international pioneer in clean energy.
Iberdrola established Portland as its North American headquarters in 2007. In 2014 the company used a grant from Prosper Portland to extend its Pearl District lease and make technological improvements to its Portland office, which houses approximately 350 high-skill, high-wage jobs. As an industry leader, Avangrid’s choice of Portland for its location and investment demonstrated the role of foreign direct investment in contributing to the growth of our clean tech and green building sectors.
Avangrid (then Iberdrola) received the 2010 Product Exporter of the Year Award at the Oregon International Business Awards.
