This meeting will serve as the public’s opportunity to comment on, and shape the schematic design of, the Oregon Sustainability Center. Project team members will discuss information on the OSC at four key stations:
- The Living Building Challenge
- Schematic Design Concepts
- Building programming and tenanting
- Research and Commercialization – the building as a Living Laboratory
The OSC is envisioned as one of the highest performing commercial buildings in the world. The Center will achieve triple net-zero performance in energy, water and wastewater management. It is designed to pursue the world’s most stringent green building criteria, the Cascadia Region Green Building Council’s Living Building Challenge™.
Schematic design of the Center will be complete in March 2011.
The Oregon Sustainability Center project is led by the Oregon University System, Portland Development Commission, the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and the Oregon Living Building Initiative.
