The dedication of a memorial honoring the project manager who shepherded the June Key Delta Community Center to completion took place Saturday, December 19, with Mayor Charlie Hales, PDC Chair Tom Kelly, and an array of community members on hand.
Christine Poole-Jones, who died in 2014, was a determined and tireless volunteer with the Delta Sigma Theta sorority Portland alumnae chapter, presiding over the transformation of an abandoned gas station into a much-lauded community center on North Albina in NE Portland. PDC was a major funder of the project, and provided financial support for the memorial sculpture by artist Alisa Looney as well.
