The Toty Awards (Toy of the Year) are sponsored by the Toy Industry Association and are often referred to as the “Oscars” of the industry, recognizing the top toys available for the holiday season.
This year Portland boasts a local finalist for the Educational Toy of the Year: Yellow Scope Science Kits for Girls. Yellow Scope was a member of the 2014 Startup PDX Challenge class and creates a different kind of science kit for girls, one that is both creative and rigorous. The company is up against serious competition, and supporters can determine 20% of the vote by choosing the Foundation Chemistry Kit as their choice on the Toty website.
