Mayor Hales will join new tenants, Central Eastside community members and public and private partners at the open house celebration showcasing the Eastside Exchange Building (formerly Convention Plaza), the first phase of the Burnside Bridgehead redevelopment.
Cascade Energy, The Technology Association of Oregon, Sightworks and the Oregon Film and Video Office are among the tenants moving in to the fully renovated building at the east end of the Burnside Bridge. Originally built in 1925, the building features nearly 80,000 square feet of office space and a newly constructed rooftop deck.
In addition to renovating the building, the project included construction of the Couch Street Plaza between NE 2nd and NE 3rd avenues; a multi-purpose open space that provides pedestrian and bicycle connection between the two streets.
