May 19, 2015
On May 19-20, three members of the PDC-funded Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative network joined more than a dozen educational and small business assistance organizations to make a difference for residents and employers in the East Portland community. The Rosewood Initiative, in partnership with Division Midway Alliance, Historic Parkrose, and Mt. Hood Community College, presented the 2015 East Portland Job & Resource Fair at The Rosewood Initiative, 16126 SE Stark St., to provide assistance to job-seekers and employers alike.
Participants included Dress for Success, SE Works, Job Corps, and PSU Business Outreach Program. May 19 was Career and Social Resource Provider Day, focused on helping East Portland residents establish the foundation to successfully land and keep a job, with interview clothing selections from Dress for Success, mock interviews, resume writing, and on the job behavior workshops. The follow-up was Employer Day on May 20, offering attendees in-person meetings with nearly 20 local employers hiring in East Portland.
