PDC has played a key role in assisting the Sons of Haiti Lodge in NE Portland over several years, beginning with a Development Opportunity Services (DOS) grant and more recently through the Community Livability Grant program. With help from PDC, local businesses and neighbors, the Lodge broke ground in late January on improvements to a proposed food cart site which will generate revenue to assist with building improvements. The project’s aim is to stabilize one of the last black-owned businesses on Mississippi Avenue.
