The season premiere of Taco Trip, a new show hosted by chef Aarón Sánchez (previously a judge on Food Network series Chopped), focused on four Portland food stand-outs: Uno Mas, Verde Cocina, Mi Mero Mole, and Tortilleria Y Tienda de Leon’s, featuring manager Lucy De Leon, who also owns Salsas Locas. Local entrepreneur De Leon has taken advantage of PDC’s Economic Opportunity Initiative (EOI), a microenterprise business assistance program.
The show aired December 30, 2014 and named Tortilleria Y Tienda de Leon’s, the family-owned Mexican restaurant and market at 16223 NE Glisan Street one of the best taco destinations in the country. The show has generated new customers for the store who have shared their positive comments about Lucy’s cuisine!
