An open house held Tuesday, October 27 at the Lents Activity Center focused on the progress made thus far on four catalytic, mixed-use projects in Lents Town Center. More than 150 participants explored the preliminary designs for the housing, services and retail projects proposed by the development teams: Williams/Dame & Associates, Asian Health and Service Center, Rose Community Development and Palindrome Communities, Inc. Opportunity to comment on the projects is available via PDC’s Peak Democracy Town Hall.
Earlier in October, Lents residents hailed the completion of the first beautification project in Lents Town Center: a mural created by artist Liz Harris on the Working Class Acupuncture building at 5814 SE 92nd Avenue. The $30,000 mural project received more than $24,000 in PDC Community Livability Grant funds; Lents Grown encourages additional donations to the project for maintenance and additional arts programming in the town center.
