Companies of all sizes in Portland’s athletic and outdoor industry will gather on Wednesday, December 9, for its annual celebration of the past year’s accomplishments. New ideas, innovation, and industry issues will center the conversation, with featured speaker Rue Mapp, founder of Outdoor Afro, kicking off the evening.
Outdoor Afro is a nationwide cutting-edge network that celebrates and inspires African-American connections and leadership in nature; in a similar vein, industry members who are diverse in terms of gender, race, veteran status, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and other demographics have been invited to “tell their A&O story” on how working in and/or participating in the industry has challenged and inspired them. Two winners will be selected to present their stories at the December event; two runners-up will be featured on the A&O website.
