Congrats to Attic Journals! The creative company earned praise from O, the Oprah Magazine in September for its innovative use of old books destined for the trash heap. Founded by Michelle Sanders in 2004, Attic Journals upcycles discarded books and gives them new life as journals, garlands and jewelry. The company was a member of PDC’s first Increase Project class, designed to take established small business owners of color through a rigorous, tailored growth planning course.
