Splash (Northwest), Inc., a newly recruited business connected to the activewear industry, celebrated its arrival in Portland with a launch party on September 16 at the company’s new office in the Olympic Mills Commerce Center, 107 S.E. Washington St., Suite 315, in the Central Eastside Urban Renewal Area.
With tenant improvement assistance from the Portland Development Commission, Splash has leased a 2,902 square feet office and production space, and plans to hire 10 people in the first year, ramping up to as many as 40 employees within the next three years.
“Splash is a great fit for Portland,” said Mayor Sam Adams. “This creative company extends our activewear supply chain, reinforces the city’s position as a hub for the activewear industry, and is adding new jobs to take advantage of Portland’s deep creative talent pool.”
The Oregon Business Development Department recently approved a $140,000 Oregon Business Development Fund loan to help the company purchase equipment for its new location. Business Oregon officials expect the loan deal to be finalized shortly.
“We are very excited to welcome Splash to Oregon,” said Business Oregon Director Tim McCabe. “Splash’s arrival only helps to strengthen Oregon’s position as a global leader in the activewear industry.”
Splash (www.splash-london.com) is headquartered in London, with an office in New York City. The Portland expansion is its first on the West Coast. The six-year-old company is an international design and production agency that works with leading brand owners and agencies, helping them create, produce and manage global advertising campaigns across multiple channels.
“Portland’s creative and activewear talent pool, as well as its close proximity to both existing and potential client companies, drove our choice of the city for our first West Coast office,” said Domenick Propati of Splash. “We’re excited about the opportunities to develop our business and grow our client base here in Portland.”
